MEETING TIME + PLACE
Your Ward Rep will email you with specific details, as each ward will have an individual meeting time that will vary by time and location. Plan on a tentative start time between 8:00am-9:00am!
Membership Participation:
All co-op members are required to participate in the bi-annual (fall and spring) cleaning of our grounds, as segmented by ward. Non-members are also welcome to participate in our grounds’ beautification, a fun and rewarding experience. No sign-in at the event is required; however, your work is crucial toward maintaining low monthly rental rates, with our bi-annual clean-ups saving our co-op thousands of dollars.
CANNOT ATTEND?
If your household is unable to attend, you must email your Ward Rep for instruction toward a makeup, or alternative, assignment. Fulfillment duty alternatives include pre-clean up assignments within your ward, stocking laundry room supplies, extra cleaning in Monarch way station, peace garden or fruit garden or additional laundry duty.

- Rake in rows: rake 6 ft. away from all building and objects including bike racks to allow for easy access for UMN Landcare equipment.
- Rake up matted leaves that are stuck to the turf (prioritize matted leaves over loose leaves, as the matted leaves damages the turf)
- Pull leaves out of the playground corners and move to open turf areas.
- Clear weeds of community flower beds (Peace Garden, Fruit Garden, Hasta Garden's)
- Dispose of abandoned toys/furniture, bikes, etc.
- Return all snow shovels to your Ward’s storage unit. Put away neatly and organized so others can access the room.

- Remove items from behind your apartment that do not belong there (e.g. couches, dishwashers, chairs, mirrors, etc.) by either bringing inside your home or properly disposing them inside the dumpster.
- Yard Inspections starting May 1. The inspection will check to ensure all residents are keeping their household yard/garden beds neat and weed-free. Maintaining clean and clear yards/gardens is on-going requirement to fulfill throughout growing season, typically April to October.
Supplies:
- All rakes and garbage bags are in your Ward Storage. If bags run out, please use a personal garbage bag.
- Return all rakes and snow shovels to your Ward’s storage unit. Please put away neatly and organized so others can access the room.
Reminder: CTC Compost BinsOur co-op’s compost bins are closed until further notice. During this time, the bins are only accepting plant debris/trimmings (grass, garden weeds, leaves, small twigs). Please do not discard anything other than plant trimmings into the bins while closed (especially NO household food scraps!). Visit umnctc.org/compost for full details and updates. |
