Trick-or-Treating at CTC
To Hand Out Candy:
- For those participating in handing out treats, please print out the CTC Trick-or-Treat Door Sign and tape on your front door. Printed signs are also available the week leading up to Oct. 31 at the Community Center's South Entrance (Fifield Place) on the bulletin board.
- Most children will start trick-or-treating around 5 or 6 pm.
- Pass out wrapped and sealed candies, pencils, fruit snacks, stickers, or other small non-candy items. Passing out fresh fruit is not advised for safety reasons.
Not Interested?
If you do not want to pass out treats, close your blinds in the front and back. This makes it clear to the community of who is participating in the tradition and who is not.
To Treat-or-Treat:
- Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
- Only visit the doors with the CTC Trick-or-Treat Door Sign (typically the front door). Do not visit the other doors/households without the displayed sign.
- Please knock only once and move to the next house if there is no answer.
- Trick-or-treating typically starts around 5-6 pm
- Recommended to bring a bag to collect candy, a flashlight, and hand sanitizer.
- Don’t forget to say “Trick-or-Treat!”
CDC Recommendations (2021):
- Avoid direct contact with trick-or-treaters
- Give out treats outdoors, if possible
- Set up a station with individually bagged treats for kids to take
- Wear a mask
- Wash/disinfect hands after touching objects or other people
- Keep your distance (6 ft.) from non-household members
- If you may have COVID-19 or you may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, you should not participate in in-person Halloween festivities and should not give out candy to trick-or-treaters
