Playground Renovations at Ward 9 and Ward 12

We’re excited to announce that two playgrounds at CTC will be getting major upgrades this summer! The Ward 9 and Ward 12 playgrounds will each undergo a full renovation, including new play equipment, safety surfacing, and landscaping.

Construction Schedule

Ward 9 Playground: May 28 – July

Removal & Demo: May 28–29
Retaining Wall Installation (GroundOne): May 30–June 11
Concrete Border: June 17–18
Equipment Install: June 18–20
Engineered Wood Fiber (EWF) Surfacing: June 19–20
Additional Work (Concrete & Railing, Restoration): July (TBD)

Ward 12 Playground: June 12 – July

Removal & Demo: June 12–13
Equipment Install: June 12–16
Concrete Border: June 23–24
Engineered Wood Fiber (EWF) Surfacing: June 25–27
Additional Work (Concrete & Restoration): July (TBD)

Worksite Hours:

Construction should be contained between 8:00 am-6:00 pm to minimize disturbances to the community.

Please Keep Away from Worksites

For your safety, both sites will be fenced off and closed during their respective construction timelines. While fences will help prevent access, it is essential that all residents, especially children, stay completely away from these areas.

Construction sites pose serious safety hazards, including heavy machinery, open holes, and uncured materials. Please do not enter, cross, or allow children to play near these areas under any circumstances.

Important Safety Reminders

No Pedestrian Access inside fenced areas at any time.
Adult supervision is required at all times on CTC grounds.
Avoid touching any construction equipment or materials.
Unauthorized entry can cause serious delays and increased costs due to damage or safety violations.

There will be periods during and after construction (especially during concrete and surfacing work) where activity appears paused—these are critical curing times when materials are particularly fragile and must remain undisturbed.
