What is a jade plant/clipping?
Clippings are a method of plant propagation to create new plants. If the conditions are suitable, the plant piece will begin to grow as a new plant independent of the parent. The gifted clippings’ age and appearance will vary, yet each plant will have a stem, small root system, and at least two leaves.
Jade plant are succulents, which makes them resilient and easy to grow— plus, they are long-lived. In fact, our jade clippings come from a 100+ year lineage in CTC staff member Lindy’s family alone (the plant essentially becoming a family member itself)!

We held a T-Shirt Design Contest for CTC's 50th anniversary (July 2020), welcoming all to contribute artwork for a community vote to determine the winning design. Between 16 submitted designs and 66 community votes, our co-op elected design #2, created by Chathurika Henpita! As our winner, Chathurika wins $100 and a free printed t-shirt with her design.
