US Postal Delivery Service Change
The US Postal Service has informed CTC they will be officially changing the postal delivery service to cluster mailbox stations (as posted in the May 2016 Terrace Times issue). This means the postal service will no longer deliver mail door to door due to budgetary constraints. It has been determined the most efficient and cost effective method of delivery will be the cluster mailbox stations. There will be 10 banks of mailboxes placed in different areas throughout the property.  Each bank will serve the units that are closest to them as much as possible.  They will be placed in areas for most convenience for residents as the walk by on their way to and from the University. There will be larger boxes for packages at each bank of mailboxes and a small slot for outgoing mail. This project is projected for late fall 2016. We will continue to send communication as to the transition logistics as we obtain instruction from the USPS.

Peace Garden Bench Dedication
In memory of former CTC resident
Jamie Lynn Koski
(6/29/76-3/26/05)
Jami came to live at CTC when she started at the UofM in 1998.  She was married with her 1 yr. old daughter, Shyanne. After 2 years, they moved to Phoenix where her son, Jayden, was born.   In 2001, she moved back to MN with her 2 children. Her goal was to resume her education at the UofM, and even more importantly, she wanted to go back & live at CTC where she could raise her children.  Being a single parent now, she knew she could have peace of mind that her children would be safe and happy & the day care at CTC was the best!  CTC was her most favorite place to live!

In addition, she absolutely loved the diversity of the people she met.  She was very friendly and made sure she knew everyone and everyone knew her.  She loved that so many were from different parts of the world working hard to better themselves and learn how to survive in their new environment. It energized her to learn about so many cultures and different ways to think and do things;
she learned what her passion was.  Jami graduated in 2004 with a degree in multi-cultural relations hoping to find a job integrating the different cultures into the workplace.

That same year, she married Sergio Agudelo, a man from Medellin, Columbia, whom she met through friends in St. Paul.  Shortly after they were married, they moved to Florida so it would be more convenient for them to visit his family in Columbia.   Less than 10  months later, the car she was riding in while in the back seat with her children was hit from behind by a negligent driver going at a
high speed.  She was killed instantly.

Her dream was to have everyone share their culture with each other and all become one!  Let us all ‘Imagine’ & pray for that in the peace garden that was so special to Jami.

Blessings,
Pat Ossell
Mother

The CTC Operations Committee is excited to announce that they have installed 2 Little Free Library’s. One is located directly in front of the Study Center, and the other is one the south end of the Peace Garden. The idea behind the Little Free Library is to engage the community to feel free to either donate a book, take a book, or both. It is our hope that this is a multi-cultural, multi-language library geared more toward children and young adults. Enjoy! Learn more about Little Free Library
