U of MN Lawn Care Program

Current Treatment: 

U of MN Landcare hard surface spray will begin Monday, June 18, 2018 and continue through the summer months until completed. Usually completing around the third week of August. Applications will be Monday-Thursday between the hours of 7:00AM- 3:30PM. The product description of Razor pro is provided below. 

Areas to be sprayed will be roads, curb lines, common mulch beds, such as the peace garden and hedge lines bordering property. Ward 9 interior will have hard surface spraying on the main sidewalk, but not smaller sidewalks leading up to apartments. 

If you are a resident electing for pesticide/ herbicide free yard space, please follow the procedure listed below. 

Previous Treatments:

The first U of MN Landcare fertilizer application with pre-emergent will start Wednesday, May 9, 2018. The application may go into the following week if weather conditions do not allow completion by Thursday, May 10, 2018. 

U of MN Landcare Spring broadleaf weed control application will be starting on Tuesday, May 29, 2018. The application may go into the following week dependent on weather conditions, but will be don no later than Friday, June 8, 2018.  Broadleaf application is spot spraying, not a blanket spray. 

Standard Spring and Fall Procedures:

Standard application procedure will only be made Monday - Thursday between the hours of 7:00AM - 3:30PM.  No applications will be made on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays. No applications are made near Community Child Care Center or to the interior of Ward 9. All applications will stay at least 10 feet away from playgrounds, the fruit garden and the community veggie gardens and designated Chemical Free Pilot Areas. Signage for the application areas will be posted for a two (2) day period. Please do not remove signs, as they will be picked up by U of MN Landcare after the two-day dry time.
