ROAD CONSTRUCTION NOTICE – Gibbs Ave Entrance Temporarily Closed

Gibbs and Como Ave entrance will be CLOSED Monday October 12th - Monday October 19th to complete the final concrete work on the entrance access of Gibbs Ave. Alternate entrances will need to be used to access Gibbs Ave. All parking will remain open and available on Gibbs Ave. ONLY the entrance will be closed during this week period.

Playground Etiquette
There have been recent reports of children urinating within the playground area
Playgrounds are for communal use and not to be used as an outdoor restroom area
Please do not allow children to urinate in the playgrounds

Toy & Bike Exchange or Giveaway
Saturday, October 3, 2015, 10am - 1pm, CTC Tennis Court
Do you have old toys you don’t want?  Have your kids out grown their bikes?  Join us for a toy and bike exchange or giveaway.
Bring a toy item/bike (trike, wagon) – SWAP - for another OR donate what you no longer use
This is a participant run exchange
If your items have not been taken at the end of the event, you may collect them or they will be donated to a local organization at 1pm

Sewing Group
Wednesdays 10am – Noon Starting October 7, 2015, Fireplace room, Community Center building
We are lucky to have Marlys Gray volunteer her time to help those interested in sewing be able to learn. Even if you already know how to sew, you are welcome to come if you need access to a sewing machine. English is not required to participate in this group. Each student will work on their own project. There is a $5.00 charge per student to cover the cost of supplies and maintenance of the machines.

Autumn Bonfire
Friday, October 9th
6:30-8:00pm Peace Garden area (near Ward 5)
S’mores, hot chocolate and warm apple cider will be provided*! Enjoy a crisp evening for autumn with residents and friends. All ages welcome!
Weather dependent (event will be canceled in the event of rain/storms)
(*Marshmallows are made with gelatin, a meat-product. If that is an issue, residents are welcome to bring alternative treats to the fire)
Volunteers are still needed to make this event happen. Please email Shanea at community@umnctc.org if you are able to help out! We are also looking for volunteers to lead a 'Capture the Flag' game!

COOKING CLASS

Volunteer resident Swaathi Sampath is volunteering her time to show us how to cook her favorite food!
This class is open to all CTC residents and FREE!

Apple Picking Field Trip
Family Field Trip to Aamodt's Apple Farm
Saturday, October 17 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pick apples, enjoy a hayride and great food, and buy apple treats like pies and bread. Experience beautiful colors of fall and drive only 20 minutes from St. Pau; near historic Stillwater, MN. Pick up a map and register to be part of a carpool at the CTC Desk if you need a ride or can offer a ride. You may stay for an hour or the whole day.

Halloween Pumpkin Carving

We have pumpkin carving at the Community Center!
CTC will be providing the pumpkins.  If you would like to reserve a pumpkin, you need to sign up for one in the CTC Office by Friday, Oct. 9th.

Halloween Happy Hour (18+)

This is a time to enjoy a beverage and snack with your friends.
Costumes are optional but greatly encouraged!
Although some beverages and snacks will be provided- feel free to bring something to share.
