Spring Clean-up
We're redirecting residents to help clean up the property on their own time the weekend of April 17-18, 2021, instead of our typical Spring Clean-up event this year due to COVID.
Spring Clean-up: Social-Distanced Style!
April 17-18, 2021
All membership households are expected to participate. No sign-in for the event is required; however, your work is crucial toward maintaining low monthly rental rates. Look out for an email from your Ward Rep with more details specific to your ward, coming soon! Coming together as a co-op at our Spring Clean-up, we hope you will:
- Get Outside: Get active, enjoy the spring weather, and gather and bag litter from all the community spaces!
- Be Safe: Practice social distancing, use gloves, and don't lift more than you can manage.
- Have fun: Share pictures on the CTC Facebook Page :D
Task List:
- Clean up all trash and put in dumpsters
- Pick up rocks and large sticks/branches, and place by dumpsters in a pile.
- Rake in rows: rake away from all building and objects including bike racks to allow for easy access for UMN Landcare equipment.
- Rake up matted leaves that are stuck to the turf (prioritize matted leaves over loose leaves, as the matted leaves damages the turf)
- Sweep debris (leaves, sticks, etc.) from street curbs and rain gutters to middle of street/driving lane, allowing for the street sweeper to remove without moving vehicles.
- Pull leaves out of the playground corners and move to open turf areas.
- Clear weeds of community flower beds (Peace Garden, Fruit Garden, Hasta Garden's)
- Dispose of abandoned toys/furniture, bikes, etc.
- Return all snow shovels to your Ward’s storage unit. Please disinfect handles shovels before and after use (disinfectant provided in laundry rooms). Put away neatly and organized so others can access the room.
- Individual household task reminders
- Clean out front and back flower beds of weeds
- Remove items from behind your apartment that do not belong there (e.g. couches, dishwashers, chairs, mirrors, etc.) by either bringing inside your home or properly disposing them inside the dumpster.
- Yard Inspections will occur on April 19, directly following the clean-up. The inspection will check to ensure all residents are keeping their household yard/garden beds neat and weed-free. Maintaining clean and clear yards/gardens is on-going requirement to fulfill throughout growing season, typically April to October.
Supplies:
- All rakes and garbage bags are in your Ward Storage. If bags run out, please use a personal garbage bag. Thank you!
- Return all rakes and snow shovels to your Ward’s storage unit. Please disinfect handles of rakes and shovels before and after use (using laundry room disinfectant). Put away neatly and organized so others can access the room.
