State Fair Patrol Sign-up

Join the CTC State Fair Patrol Team!

Just down the road, the Minnesota State Fair will bring all sorts of life, food, and entertainment to our backyard August 22 - September 2, 2019. As Minnesota hosts the second largest state fair in the nation, we ask for community volunteers in keeping our co-op grounds safe and clean over the 12 day event. Our volunteer team will receive free tickets to the State Fair in exchange for their service in maintaining our peaceful sanctuary. Contrary from last year, the volunteer sign-up will take place online beginning August 15th, with more essential details below!

Important

Please sign up for one shift per household (Option for second shifts added later depending on availability)
Volunteers must be a person on the lease at CTC, not a visitor, parent or friend.
Online volunteer sign-up opens August 15^th, 2019 at 8:00 a.m. No email, phone, or office walk-in sign-ups.
You will be charged the amount of the ticket ($14 each) if you sign-up and do not show up to your volunteer shift

Available Volunteer Opportunities

Grounds Patrol Position

Tasks: You and another volunteer will monitor the grounds for a two hour shift, ensuring the security of our community. You will walk around and report any suspicious activity or illegally parked cars to the dispatcher via walkie talkie.

Shifts: Two-hour shift (option between 8-10 pm or 10 pm-Midnight) with two patrol officers per shift 48 total patrol shifts

Reward: ONE free MN State Fair ticket (redeemable for any day of the fair)

Dispatcher Position

Tasks: There is one dispatcher a night that serves for a 4 hour shift (8pm-Midnight). You will help organize and manage the volunteers, as well as have the responsibility of reporting suspicious activity or illegally parked/not validated cars. You will receive a packet of information for your shift with the resources and responsibilities clearly laid out.

Shifts: Four-hour shift (8 pm-Midnight) with one dispatcher per night 12 total dispatcher shifts

Reward: TWO free MN State Fair tickets (redeemable for any day of the fair)
