Jan. Programs Meeting

CTC's Programs Committee meets every third Tuesday of the month at 6 pm in the Community Center Meeting Room (first floor).

All are welcome to attend one or multiple meetings, as dependent on your interests, initiatives, and availability! If you wish to receive the email prior to the meetings with the respective agenda and topics, please contact ctc@umnctc.org.

CTC's Programs Committee energizes community connections by organizing diverse community-wide activities, groups, and events. Our co-op committees promote community building and directly influence co-op decision-making in various sectors of our multifaceted co-op. This enables our committee members to develop a comprehensive understanding of the co-op’s operations, strong leadership skills, and an enhanced ability to think critically.

Update (1/23/2020): Review the January Meeting Minutes for new initiatives, plus event dates and deadlines!

December Meeting Recap

At the beginning of our meetings we try to review that prior month’s events and do an analysis of what worked, what didn’t and what we can change. For this meeting we talked about Thanksgiving and looked over the survey that was sent out to participants. Generally, the event was well-attended and well-received, we mostly had suggestions of more activities designed to get people talking to one another. This was a good segue into talking about what our goals are for this new year. Full December Meeting Minutes.

Goals for 2020

  1. Four new resident events each year.
  2. Five cultural events each year.
  3. Four youth events each year.
  4. Two Ward Rep-led events each year for each Ward.

These event categories can and will overlap, but it helps guide our efforts to cater to all of the demographic categories that live at CTC.

We decided to focus on the following events for 2020:

All are welcome to attend the meetings without any commitment or even involvement! The meetings are great opportunities to bring ideas, feedback, and opinions for our committee's attention and action - or just kick back and listen/learn more of the discussion.
