English Conversation Group
Fireplace room- Community Center Building
10:00AM-11:30AM
Join this group to talk with our volunteers, Grandma Gloria and Uncle Warren!
Come to the Fireplace Room to meet with meet new friends, share stories in English and listen to others’ stories. Enjoy coffee or tea and treats. Just come, listen and talk in English! It’s FREE! All residents are welcome, even those who already speak English.
For the next 13 weeks, each session of the group will have a foundational focus that one can prepare mentally or come equipped with applicable vocabulary or phrases. No preparation is required and the group may stray from the topic; yet, this is a wonderful way to incorporate new words, expand your knowledge of phrases and grammar, as well as measure how far you have improved on the topic!
Week Three (6/19): Daily Routines: Chores, Activities, Hobbies
- When do you normally get up in the morning? What do you eat for breakfast/lunch/dinner normally?
- How do you spend most of your time? Do you have any hobbies, children, or a job?
- What chores do you typically perform each day/week?
- Members of CTC are required to clean the laundry rooms for a week about once a semester, as well as rake leaves in during the Fall and Spring Clean-up—do you participate in this?
- CTC also provides garden plots—any gardeners could explain what plants they chose and their process to tend to them.
- Do you like to exercise or play any sports?
