Keystone Foodmobile

In partnership with the University of Minnesota and Keystone Community Services, the Keystone Foodmobile brings a free, mobile food shelf to CTC.

This program is coordinated locally with the Nutritious U Food Pantry and is open to University of Minnesota students and their families, as well as members of the public. No one will be turned away.

Free Grocery Items

Participants may receive a variety of:

  • Fresh produce
  • Meat and dairy products
  • Canned goods
  • Household items

Please bring your own reusable bags if possible.

When
  • Occurs monthly on the last Thursday
  • 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (or until supplies run out)

Participants may attend only one Keystone Foodmobile distribution (or access services) per month.

Distribution Locations

Primary Location – Fifield Avenue (Zone A)
North Fifield Avenue Parking Lot near Commonwealth Avenue and Ward 3
Distribution will take place here if adequate parking is available.
Please avoid parking in Zone A spaces on Foodmobile days.

Back-Up Location – CTC North Lot (Zone B)
North/Seasonal Parking Lot near Commonwealth Avenue and Ward 1
If Fifield Avenue parking is unavailable, distribution will move to the North Lot.

Winter Weather Policy

Cold Temperatures:
Distribution will automatically cancel if the forecasted temperature is 10°F or below. Wind chill may also be considered. Because Foodmobile vehicles are not well heated, extremely cold conditions can become unsafe for staff, volunteers, and participants.

Snow:
Distributions are rarely canceled due to snow, but cancellations may occur if a major storm is forecasted before or during service.

If a cancellation is necessary, CTC will update event communications as quickly as possible. Keystone will also update its website, social media, and phone line (651-645-0349).

About the Program

The Keystone Foodmobile is a service of Keystone Community Services. Keystone provides and funds the food; Nutritious U helps coordinate outreach and volunteers to support the distribution.

Because this is a partnership with an outside organization, first-time participants may be asked to complete a brief intake form for reporting purposes (income range, Minnesota residence, and basic demographics).

  • This form is optional.
  • Participants may decline to answer any questions.
  • Information is used for funding and service reporting purposes only.

We are grateful to our campus and community partners for helping expand access to nutritious food on the St. Paul campus!!

All participants will use a sale sign to indicate that they are selling items to the community. Print this sign at home or pick one up in CTC's Office.

What is a Yard Sale?
A yard sale is a great opportunity to recycle your gently used items and support your community. If you have items you no longer need that are still in good condition, CTC’s Yard Sale is perfect for you!

Typically held in your front yard, a yard sale allows neighbors and passersby to browse and purchase your items. Items should be undamaged, in good working condition, and free of odors and stains. Examples of suitable items include clothes, toys, books, small furniture, small appliances, household items, and kitchenware. Please note that non-perishable food, unused household cleaning chemicals, unused toiletries like shampoo, and cosmetics are not ideal for yard sales.
Buy Items
Use the vendor sign-up list to find the addresses participating in the sale. Plus, refer to the CTC Map as needed.
