Applying for CTC
Due to the popularity of quality student family affordable cooperative living, CTC maintains a waiting list. To apply, complete the application and submit the $40 application fee to activate placement on the waiting list. Upon receiving the completed application, it is dated and placed in chronological order on the appropriate list (you may apply for ONE APARTMENT SIZE ONLY). Specific time on the waiting list is dependent upon season and apartment size. Unfortunately, it is not possible to give specific predictions as to when a unit will be offered. CTC offers a 30-60 day notification of availability to applicants which vary at any time throughout the month.
Upon acceptance of an apartment offer at CTC, a security deposit equal to one month’s rent is due shortly thereafter. Apartment rental charges are effective from move-in date given by CTC staff.

Utilities Included
Utilities that included in the rental fee are heat, water, gas, electricity, and cable TV. Additional charges per month are applied for additional large appliances such as AC, dishwashers or deep freezers.
Appliances Provided
Each unit has a refrigerator and stove. All apartments are unfurnished.
Eligibility&Priority
On-campus, Family Friendly Housing for University of Minnesota students and their families, married/domestic partnered couples, single graduate students, post doctoral fellows and eligible research associates on a priority basis.
Lease Agreement
Commonwealth Terrace’s month to month lease works will with students and post docs ever changing schedules. A 60 day notice is required to vacate. View Sample lease document. Please refer to updated pet policy here.
